CITES: Bad day for corals
This morning, Sunday, we were back to work. The EU finally organized a coordination meeting with the NGOs, thanks pushing by our colleague from the office in Brussels! We didn´t get much information out of it. Bluefin didn´t get discussed at all, sharks were all good since the EU supports all proposals, and the same for corals.
Today as you know coral was discussed, and unfortunately sunk. Each day we´re teased with the possibility of sharks coming up. Today we thought it might but in the end they ran out of time. They say tomorrow possibly sharks can start as well, but most likely they will not come up until tuesday morning. Tomorrow the majority of the day will be dedicated to elephants.
Dave Allison talks about Failure to Protect Marine Species at CITES.
