Press event and farewells
This morning I woke-up tired. Maybe it was from the weight of many long days of work at sea. Or maybe it was the motionless boat at the harbor making sleeping light than normal. I don’t know, but either way I was happy knowing that this was the last day. Sad too, as it meant saying goodbye to many great people. Although I had the pleasure of spending just over two weeks with this crew, I still felt that I had fully blended in.
This morning we were busy cleaning up the last bits in the boat, packing and unloading. At 10:30 we had a press event with Lasse Gustavsson and Ricardo Aguilar presenting the main findings of this two-month adventure on the North Sea.
Soon after that we made the final check, gave our hugs and kisses to the Neptune crew and to each other and then went our separate ways: Neptune and its crew to back to Iceland, some took flights back to Spain, some stayed in Rotterdam or Amsterdam for one more night and I flew back to Finland. Thank you, North Sea, for the ride! It was a good one!
