Sam Dougados practices an interesting type of art that he dubs, “beach art”. Using a rake, he etches incredible patterns into the sand, photographing them before the tide washes them away.
As part of an exhibit in San Sebastian, which took place at the end of last month, Sam worked with painter Iñigo Manterola on a joint piece of work which was later sold at auction. We were thrilled to find out that he and Mr. Manterola decided to donate half of the sale proceeds to Oceana! A huge thank you!
Sam, who is French, works mostly in Biarritz, where he lives, but also in Spain and Morocco. It’s always wonderful when we find artists who embody the spirit of what it is we are working towards here at Oceana.
