Hopefully…
While the Ranger surveyed the intertidal zone using the ROV today, we completed four dives near the coast at different depths and covered hundreds of meters with aide of our underwater scooters.
Our main conclusion for the day was the absence of great concentrations of plastics. Hopefully every day ahead would be like today, where you see more biodiversity and little plastic. Some of the interesting ecosystems we located today included a seafloors of mud and sand, Caulerpa, and those made up of sediment and shells. We also found a Sabellaria reef in one area as well as the reminants of a long-gone Posidonia meadow.
