First dives in Seco de los Olivos
We hadn’t planned on working in Seco de los Olivos until October 1, but the storm forced us to turn from our original destination, Portugal, and head for Almerimar 10 days early. Today we conducted the first batch of ROV immersions as part of our contribution to the LIFE + INDEMARES project. Our main objective was to test all the equipment (both human and mechanical) to make sure everything would work smoothly for the next two weeks. It went well; we collected almost two hours of footage of an area we had never visited before, a mound north west of the main peak.
